Gluten-free Toppings for Desserts


There are various options you can use as toppings for desserts:

Fruit:

Using about 1 1/2 cups of fresh fruit or 1 can of fruit.  Put it in a sauce pan with 1/2 cup of white sugar. Bring to a boil and mix 1/4 cup cool water with 2 Tbsp. corn starch, Mom's Place Gluten Free Arrowroot Starch, or Mom's Place Gluten Free Potato Stach. Slowly pour into boiling fruit. It will immediatly start to thicken. Use as gluten free ice cream topping or on top of cakes, such as Mom's Place Gluten Free Angel Food Cake or Mom's Place Gluten Free Buttery Vanilla Pound Cake.

 

Chocolate, Carmel or Chocolate Chips:

Also use our homemade Chocolate Syrup and swirl it into our cheese cake recipe before baking. A little bit goes a long way and can make for an elegant design. Another option is to melt gluten free carmels down and swirl into the cheesecake. 

Mini chocolate chips make for a fun topping for kids. Add a few to the cream cheese before baking and after you pull it out of the oven sprinkle a few on top.
